sink stopper hack

We’ve all been there…more than once most likely. What are we talking about? Little things gone wrong at home that need a quick fix while you wait for a professional to come and fix it!

Whenever we run into an innovative and creative quick fix (that’s not dangerous, of course!), we’d like to pass it along.

If you’re like most people, the list of little things to do around the house is never-ending. Some of the fixes are too critical to even try to fix for the short term and need to be dealt with quickly by a professional. Then there are other fixes that are fairly small and with a little ingenuity, you can pull a trick or two out of your hat to get by.

That’s what this photo is all about. Bathroom sink drains are notorious about either being stuck open or closed. You can push it down and watch it pop right back up or you can try to pull it up and twist it a bit hoping it will stay open, but it doesn’t. Without getting technical, there’s a small part that operates the pull up/down lever. And, that part often gets “disconnected”.

So, what do you do when this happens? Check out the photo. A rubber band saved the day for this sink and kept the drain open! You can’t tell us that you didn’t get a chuckle out of this quick fix. It’s quirky, yet effective!
